Reem MIRZA

PhD candidate in electrolyte thermodynamics at IFP Energies nouvelles (IFPEN) and Sorbonne Université (ED 388). My research focuses on the development and improvement of thermodynamic models for complex electrolyte systems relevant to hydrometallurgical processes. In particular, I work on the ePPC-SAFT equation of state to better describe non-ideal behavior arising from ion–ion interactions, solvation, ion pairing and complexation, with particular interest in concentrated and mixed-solvent systems. The long-term objective is to improve the predictive description of phase equilibria and thermodynamic properties involved in metal recovery and separation processes, notably for applications related to battery recycling and the circular economy.
