Paul SAINT-AMAND

PhD student in computational fluid dynamics (CFD)

PhD student in computational fluid dynamics (CFD). I am employed by the company Plenesys (Sophia-Antipolis) and supervised by IPFEN (Rueil-Malmaison).

Plenesys develops a "plasmalysis" technology that allows CO2-free production of hydrogen (H2) and carbon black particles (C) from the thermal decomposition of methane (CH4). My PhD aims at enhancing the accuracy of their CFD simulation tools by : Accelerating the resolution of the chemistry, coupling a solid carbon particle model to the gas phase simulation, modeling the radiative heat transfers between the reactor's walls and the particles.

I am interested in the fields of energy, space and transportation. My curiosity, a thirst for innovation, and the search for resilience and efficiency in how mankind uses energy and ressources are what drive me everyday.
