Benoit BOUSSAND

PhD student in physicochemistry

My PhD thesis, entitled “Removing synthetic microfibers from wastewater using bubbles”, focuses on flotation processes as a method to separate plastic microfibers from wastewater. My work investigates the mechanisms involved at the bubble scale, particularly the collision mechanisms (related to the hydrodynamics of the system) and the bubble-fiber attachment mechanisms (related to physicochemistry). I work on a model experimental setup designed at the scale of a single bubble to study these interactions.
