Valentin NOTARIANNI

PhD student in molecular catalysis

After complishing a Master degree in organic chemistry at Paris-Saclay University, I then started a PhD project. Even though it is fully funded by IFPEN, I actually conduct all of my research at the Paris-Saclay University. My project is part of the broad field of molecular catalysis, and more specifically lies on aerobic oxidative catalysis of alkanes. The end  goal consists of generating highly valuable dicarboxylic acid compounds starting from polyethylene as a substrate. Polyethylene having a large contribution in plastic wastes, this project also fits into a context of sustainable chemistry. To succesfully carry out this project, a progressive strategy has been envisionned, starting from cyclohexane all the way up to polyethylene.
