Benjamin BALLE

PhD Student in hydrogeological modelling

As a Ph.D. student in hydrogeological modeling at IFPEN, I am studying the Lez karst aquifer. My work aims to contribute to the development of modeling tools for karst studies. The first tool will be used to generate karst networks from the fault network. The second will be used to simulate the hydrodynamics of the hydrosystem by integrating the triple-porosity of karst systems using embedded grids.

Before joining IFPEN, I developed my knowledge of hydrology and hydrogeology at the universities of Montpellier and Paris Saclay. I mostly did internships in hydrogeophysics (IRT, ERT, PS) that involved a significant amount of fieldwork.

Outside of work, I enjoy playing bridge, cooking, and tactical video games. I also love traveling to discover new landscapes.
